Sweetgrass is available at a number of nurseries in the southeastern coastal area. The best thing is to call nurseries in your area and ask if they have sweetgrass plants. This is convenient for both you and them, as well as encourages nurseries to carry it.
Plant sweetgrass in full sun in well drained soil. They do not like competition so do not plant them closely with other shrubs or perennials.
Plant sweetgrass to the same depth as in the container they are growing. Plent them preferrably while they are dormant. Winter or early spring is best. Soil amendments and fertilizer should not be necessary. Do not mulch them very thickly At least not close to the clump.
Keep them from completely drying out for the first year. After that, they should not need additional water.
