Without Question your website is one of the finest we've ever visited. The depth of your website is impressive especially with the interaction on the site by so many volunteers/naturalists and overall wildlife lovers . Kudos on your involvement re: the support and rehabilitation of Birds & Turtles.
We have yet to read one of your books, but that will happen very soon. It was the compliment Marjory Wentworth gave you in one of her most recent articles in the Post & Courier, praising your knowledge of birds, that prompted us to seek out your website, glad we did. After our permanent move from Boston to Mt. Pleasant(delayed..but hopefully this Spring)perhaps we'll introduce ourselves to some turtles and Osprey.

Thank for making this valuable information available to the public..
My family just spent the 2006 Christmas holidays on Isle of Palms. We rent a beach house and enjoyed the stay. Our house was even on Palm Blvd. My daughter gave me your book, Beach House, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to reading your upcoming book.
Thanks Ethel
I have been looking for sites like this for a long time. Thank you!
I am a bookseller, as well as avid reader and collector of "southern literature."
I'd be interested to learn how to obtain signed copies of your work, or if you would be willing to sign copies of books already owned (I would pay all the costs, of course).
Cool guestbook, interesting information... Keep it UP. excellent site i really like your stuff.
I just finished The Beach house with tears and sobs. This book as well as The Sunday Wife by Cassandra King and The Deep End of the Ocean so touched my heart and will be placed on the bookshelf of books to be read over and over.
Keep up the great writing and visit KY sometime

Thanks so very much for taking your time to create this very useful and informative site. I have learned a lot from your site. Thanks!
I just love your books...especially "The Beach House" and "Skyward". Combining a story about life and the "life story" of turtles and birds of prey is so interesting and intriguing. Thanks for combining the two so well!
Mary Alice - I'm delighted that you've written a children's book - how coincidental, because THIS ISN'T FOR THE GUEST BOOK - I have an idea to reach children with your environmentally friendly ideas. I met you in Baltimore on your book tour for SWEETGRASS and wrote of my IOP visit in your guest book last September.
My fisheries ecologist son in Florida has written several books, also, and I have an idea for making your work, his work and the work of other southern nature writers accessible to kids.
If this is the best way to reach you, I'll explain more. Can't wait for your book releases - I've been hounding my librarian!!! Warm wishes for the new year - Sandi Adams
I consider that beside Your site there is future!
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN KINGSTREE IN MAY 2007. I HAVE JUST FINISHED READING FOUR SEASONS. IT WAS JUST FABULOUS!
I recently finished 'The Beach House' and I have to say that this book was one that really touched my heart. I was a mess at the end. It was wonderful to really be pulled in. I connected with Caretta because of my age and how she related with her mother. Thank-you!!
Your novel, the Beach House, is one of the best books I have read in a very long time. It made me laugh, cry, and think a lot about family and the feelings of resentment or anger that can so easily separate brothers, sisters, parents, and children.
It's a beautiful book and I am passing it along to all of my friends.
I can't wait to read more of your novels.
I just finished reading "The Beach House" last night. What a fabulous book!! My mother passed away in 2000 and my father just passed away last February. There were so many times reading this wonderful book that I just sobbed uncontrollably because memories of my parents flooded back.
My mother was an animal rights activist and if we had lived at the beach SHE would have been a Turtle Lady too! Thank you so much for this wonderful book. I can't wait to read both of your new books and would love to join a bookclub in my area if there is one.
Ann
Mary, I am looking forward to your new book Swimming Lessons. I would like to see Skyward in movie form. No better heroine, in today's movie scripts, as nurse Ella Majors.
I am looking for a hardcover copy of your book The Beach House. Did your publisher go right to paperback or is there hardcover copies available?
Glen
I have just finished reading SWEETGRASS. It is cold and rainy here today, but I feel all warm inside thinking of the shoreline, the marshes and sweetgrass baskets. Thank you...the book was wonderful.
I want to THANK YOU for the beautiful books that you write. I read Sweetgrass, which is just a joy to read, and am now almost done, sadly, with Skyward. What will I do when I finish this masterpiece? I have always been an animal lover, and a bird lover. On our golfcourse, we had a pair of Egyptian Geese, who raised 6 babies. They got so used to me being so overprotective with them, that they followed me everywhere. Being a new widow, I have lost myself in your books, and beg you to continue writing these magnificent novels.
Thank you!
Phyllis
fI have read all your books and I can't wait till you write a new one. I keep checking, now that I've signed up I hope to know when you have finished a new book.
You are a fantastic writer, I feel like I've come home when I read your books. Thanks for being you.
Crystal
Love your books! keep 'em coming!
