Do you remember I told you about the tall scarps that we have due to Tropical Storm Barry?  Well this morning a turtle tried to climb the 2 1/2 foot scarp once, then wandered around some then tried again.  she made it and she nested in the sea oats.  The Turtle Team found a colony of fire ants next to it and were stung as they tried to locate the eggs.  Nonetheless the team left the nest in situ because the location was good and it's best to leave as many nests where they were laid as possible.  The team will have to monitor the nest for the ants and trea as needed.
