Great video!
Three days after a nest hatches, the turtle team members must do an inventory. At this time we open the nest to count hatched and unhatched eggs and make a report to the Department of Natural Resources so that they can track the total number of nests, etc. for the state. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to pretend that you are there with us on the IOP. Tee and Bev are doing this inventory and Mary gets to release those baby turtles we found still in the nest. The nests usually hatch late at night in the dark. The inventories are held in the morning so you can get a good view. Click to go to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I68UXp4Jg6o
