Lowcountry Live

The morning talk show, Lowcountry Live, here in Charleston kicked off a week long, live show at the SC Aquarium this week.  What a great idea!  They're going to visit all the areas of the Aquarium starting off with the Sea Turtle Hospital.

I went to chat with host Ryan Nelson and Brian (Ryan and Brian--easy to remember!) live in the Aquarium's Great Hall. The cameras were set up in front of the great tank for a beautiful back drop.  Ryan and I have chatted many times over the years so when I go on her show it's like visiting an old friend.  The Turtle Hospital's Director, Kelly Thorvalsen, joined us for an up to date info session on the successful turtle releases (28 to date!) as well as what folks can do when they visit our beaches to help the sea turtles.  Everyone can help! The Aquarium's President and CEO, Kevin Mills, came on the show to welcome the crew to the Aquarium and to give a peek at all the exciting new programs starting up at the Aquarium this year!

I am always grateful and impressed when a newspaper, television show, radio program--whatever public arena--steps forward in a leadership role to raise public awareness of the plight of our wildlife and planet. Thank you Lowcountry Live!
